BUYERS: What Do You Look For?     posted on 6th of august, 2007

When buying stock photography from Dreamstime, what do you typically look for?

Are you only looking for photos? Or do you also purchase illustrations?

How many photos do you buy on average in any given month? How many illustrations?

When purchasing, does it help when the artist offers an additional file, whether RAW or VECTOR?

What type of business are you or most of your clients in?

Thank you for answering my questions. =)

This is the first time I have looked at buying stock photography. As a new designer I am looking for classy, modern yet simple look. I love black and white images. I would purchase photos only as I like to do my own Illustrations.
I am in Manufacturing and we design our own catalogs.

We purchase both photos and illustrations. This is our first month, but it's coming out to about 50/50 so far on photos vs. illustrations. The additional file format isn't necessary for our use. We're involved in the design-build industry.

Hope this helps,
