Butterflies Everywhere     posted on 14th of september, 2007

Here in east Texas, we had a very wet and rainy spring. I think the great rain (breaking a several year drought) brought us many butterflies this year.

My short experience photographing butterflies began with this shot a month or so ago. I was surprised at the large number of views it seemed to get rather quickly.

On the way to Shreveport, Louisiana last week, I found some nice flowers with lots of butterflies hanging around... so here's a few more shots.

I like the way the angle turned out on this one... I thought was kind of special.

I liked the crispness and details of this photo - the colorful butterfly on top of this lovely flower.

Finally, this one caught my attention. Its similar to this photo from a month or so ago.

But in the case of this one, , the deadly struggle was taking place in the shadow of the beautiful pink flower. Look at the spider - beautiful but deadly to the butterfly.

Life and death, in the shadow of beauty.

Just my 2 cents for the day.

thanks guys. several of the butterfly and flowers pictures got rejected at first. Then I cropped them a bit tighter and plead my case... and they allowed them in this time. Hope they might sell a little bit.

Butterflies are nice creatures to take a photo of. To be honest, I thought this category is similar to those of flowers - not very much welcome here on DT. Good for you, you have them accepted!
