Bringing an old town to life     posted on 11th of september, 2007

Lately I have been having trouble finding things to photograph in my area. I know that any one of you could come to my town and probably find hundreds of fascinating images to shoot, but for my driving the same streets everyday and seeing the same buildings hasn't sparked any excitement.

Do any of you feel the same way about where you live. I would love to see some pictures of places that surround you.

Don't feel that bad... I know if you look much closer you can find some fascinating views... Try grabbing your camera at sunset and sunrise in your town... Mrs.Holley Carburetor - posted by Mrvent on October 02, 2007
i told my husband this very thing this morning...everything looks so common place nothing stands out. but it will when i start to look at it differently , through a photographers eyes and not just the home town girl. - posted by Denisebeverly on September 11, 2007

Halloween Pictures     posted on 26th of september, 2007

Halloween is about a month away and the kids are already deciding on what they should dress up as to go trick or treating.

As far as stock photography is concerned, what is the best type of pictures to submit for this holiday? Is it pictures of pumpkins resting on hay stacks, kids in their costumes, haunted houses, or all little bit of everything.

I am aware that Halloween is not as big in other countries as it is in the United States. We sure do love our holidays, especially when free candy is involved!

I have just had a go at creating a few images for Halloween but like you I am unsure what will sell so I guess it is just a case of suck it and see. Good luck and it will be interesting to see what you produce. - posted by Nicemonkey on September 27, 2007
As you were saying - a little bit of everything. Halloween is one of those quite well covered areas, you need to be creative and try to bring pictures that would be different in a way from those already present, I think.
