It's not about the money     posted on 4th of september, 2007

I'm feeling very happy now!Just got a pm in CS(A popular photography forum) from another member!

"Hi, i like your shoot on the cny light up. I would like to seek your kind permission to use one of them for my 2008 desktop calender print. (qty - about 2000pcs for gifts). Do you have any objections?"

This is the 2nd time someone has asked me for permission to use my pics. The 1st time was a teacher from Greenridge primary school who asked to use my National stadium pics for a video for their Racial harmony day celebration.

Well, this time i think i'll let him use the pictures for free too.Since he's using it for gifts,i think i'll ask for a copy of the calendar then.

Some people might say im stupid to let him use for free.1 of my friend even said"will u be so stupid to miss ...

A search of the seven wonders turned out to be more than seven wonders...There are actually more than that.Seven wonders is just a name to phrase the wonders.I think cauze it sounds catchy. It sounds better than the 21 wonders right?Anyway, here are the real wonders of the world!!

FORGOTTEN WONDERS

* Abu Simbel Temple in Egypt

* Angkor Wat in Cambodia

* The Aztec Temple in Tenochtitlan (Mexico City), Mexico

Techniques for interviews     posted on 24th of september, 2007

excerpt from a forum...Is it the truth? How many of you guys do this?

"I find that interviewers nowadays are not very trained to interview people.

It's like the person who can tell the best story gets hired. Not the best worker.

My friend who is working in a head-hunting firm for positions Managers and above tell me,

it's who you know that will get you the job. If got 2 people to select from but only 1 open position, but the interviewer or mgr knows one of the candidate, the other candidate can go home sleep already.

He also say, prepare to make up fake stories to display leadership skills, and things you did and u regret in life and how u change it. This type of things cannot check one. Leadership skills n What you did that u regret in life don't have to be work ...

Which Brand     posted on 24th of september, 2007

Why Canon,Why Nikon Why Sony? This is not a BRAND war

Just curious what made you go for that particular brand

.Excerpts from an Article

"As you can see in my signature below, I’m a proud D200 owner and have been for almost 9 months. It has delivered in every situation I’ve thrown at it, scoffed at the bumps it’s had, and kept going without skipping a beat.

But very recently, I have been fortunate to be given an opportunity to step into professional photography full time via a studio in New Jersey and being scheduled to shoot 40 weddings next year. The whole operation uses Canon exclusively and probably 80% have 5Ds (with a few 20Ds, 30Ds, and 1DIIs mixed in). It’s been a very lonely 2 weeks as a Nikon user. Even the owner (an award-winning photographer who ...

Wow Gadgetat sounds like your camera went through some real abuse. Im glad mine hasnt gone through that yet and hopefully it wont~! - posted by Redsun81 on September 24, 2007
I chose Canon at random back in 2001. At the time they had a wonderful "Digital Elph." It was only 2.1 MP, but that was great then. My choice worked out well. I'd bought the camera to document my Appalachian Trail Hike. During the course of hiking from Georgia to Maine a lot happened. Snow storms, ice storms, heat waves, drought, etc. The camera was frozen, dropped, and took all the abuse of a long hike that you'd expect. Today, 6 years later the camera still works, and my little sister shoots with it every day. That's what made me a Canon guy. - posted by Gadgetat on September 24, 2007

What lens are you using     posted on 26th of september, 2007

Do the lenses you're using equate to the quality of your pictures?or in the same context, does the camera you're using matter?

Personally i use a 30D and the Canon kit lens,a lens which some people won't even consider as their 1st lens. Before using the 30D

i had a 20D and i was using the 17-85IS then

I compared the pictures i had taken in the past with the 17-85 and now with the 18-55..to be honest,i cant tell the difference.I have only owned 1 L lens before and that was the 24-105IS L.That is a nice lens to have,no doubt bout that. But its too long at the wide end for cropped cameras so i sold it

Personally i feel that better lens may give you better sharpness and maybe colours but if you're not printing poster size pics, you probably cant tell the difference

IMHO composition and technique ...

Haha i can imagine what went through your head David~! Yes i would get the 50mm to complement the kit lens for low light conditions too - posted by Redsun81 on September 27, 2007
My comments don't answer your question - just thought I'd relay something funny. I clicked on your picture of the mating butterflies. I then saw (down below) more pictures - but they were all about animals and insects mating. I thought, "Does this guy only take pictures of animals and insects mating? Strange!" Then, I realized that I was looking not at your other pictures, but "similar pictures" in Dreamstime. So - my mistake - sorry for the false conclusions. Hope you find it a bit amusing. Nice pictures by the way. For what its worth, I used the Canon kit lens for quite a while. I can see advantages for my 50mm lens, but primarily in the fact that the 50mm lense offers a larger aperture - better for low-light conditions. - posted by Davidwattsjr on September 27, 2007
Well Buch a kit lens might not match those higher grade lens but i feel that its not that bad.Good pictures can be taken with the kit lens too :) But thanks for your comment anyway :) - posted by Redsun81 on September 27, 2007
