Backup your data now!     posted on 8th of november, 2007

Many photographers and graphic designers have a good practice to backup their data regularly. I have a portable HDD to backup my laptop, and DVDs as a secondary backup because the burning processes are painfully slow.

Today, I did a special backup because I seen this alert notice about Seagate's 2.5" HDD:

Important notice of using MacBooks

Mac HDD damage alert

So, if your HDD has the same version of firmware you may do a full backup right now.

Since I had a catastrophal crash two years ago I have two harddisks in my PC with a RAID-Controller, that means: every read- and write-action is done simultan on two harddisks. Additional I save all picture-, dtp- and database-files on a seperate HD and on DVD. I never will have this experience again.
