Living Life to its Fullest     posted on 16th of november, 2007

Every second of every day needs to be lived to its fullest. It is very humbling to look at this great big universe we live in and realize just how fragile life is. As a human race, we are so busy with the day-to-day "things" of just making it through another 24 hours. God gave us all our senses to enjoy this temporary place we call home. It is easier just to skim through life looking at the big things in the broad picture. We need to dig deeper to hear, see, feel, smell, and taste all those scrumptious morsels that we so often overlook in our "can't-wait-until-tomorrow" attitude. Slow down. Absorb life. Be thankful for all the gifts (tangible and non-tangible) that you enjoy. I am so grateful for the sacrifices that have been and still are being made for my freedom - both spiritually and as a citizen of this great United States of America. I am thankful that I am loved beyond my comprehension.

Leaves in the Wind

Sometimes in our hurry to get through the day, we miss special blessings that God sends our way.

The birds are singing - why the rush? Take time to listen, their songs are for us.

Flowers are blooming - a sweet scent in the air. Slow down and smell them, Winter soon will be here.

Our flag is flying - our country is free. A price is paid daily for you and for me.

Children are playing - were we ever that young?

Show them you love them, too soon they'll be grown.

Old folks are waiting in homes all alone.

Learn from their wisdom before they are gone.

Don't let your time pass like leaves in the wind. You don't know life's schedule - when it will end.

Soak up each moment as if today were your last day. Take time to live life - don't throw it away.

Lovely thoughts Carolyn, Thank you for reminding us all that there is a big picture and we are the pixels that make the image come to life. Be happy, be colorful, make the picture bright. Have a wonderful Easter!

Thanks for the blog. I think it is just so easy to get caught up in the rush of the silly little things we think we need to do, that we forget the "big picture" This gift of life is about living. Every sunset, every rainbow, every painted sky, it was made for us, to enjoy, to show, to live and love.

Have a wonderful and an awesome week!

Thank you, Denise. If we would just be "still" we would be amazed at what we've been missing.

another great blog carolyn. i am always amazed when i see a rainbow and look around and nobody is looking at the sky.

people are blasting music, over the sound of crunching leaves and singing birds, don't get me wrong i love music, but it would be nice just to enjoy the music of nature.

as i look out the window next to my computer the early evening sun is lighting up the reds and bronzes of our oak tree, as a breeze sets the leaves to dancing. a tiny little wren has been chiding his neighbor all afternoon, the air is crisp and cool after a surprise snow flurry last night. i can't think of anywhere else i would rather be at this moment in time.

    About Me
Carolyn Marshall (Cmarshall717)
Tampa, US

I live in Tampa, Florida, where the sun is “supposed” to shine all the time (except when it rains “most” of the time in the summer months). The extreme diversity of my employment history may also be of interest to some of you, which has included being a legal secretary, a PADI scuba instructor, an over-the-road truck driver (team driver with my husband), a boxing inspector, a private investigator, and a security officer.

That being said, I have always loved being behind the camera. About 15 years ago, I started photographing the many veterans’ events in which my husband was involved. At that time, I was using a Nikon N6006. It didn’t take long to become known as the unofficial “official” photographer. In 2005, I made the move to digital with my Nikon D70 camera, which I still use. The world is my classroom, and with technology changing things on an almost-daily basis, I strive to continue to “learn and improve.”

The most important thing to know is that Living Life Photography is not about me. I am in hopes that God will use me to bring a smile to a face or a tear to an eye. Maybe one of my photographs will take someone back to a special time that they thought they had forgotten, or give them a new memory to keep. I consider it a blessing to be able to photograph life as I see it, and thank God for the privilege of playing a small part in capturing memorable moments to be cherished for years to come.

In my world, everything I see is a photograph. Here’s to opening our eyes and hearts to “live life”. Thank you for letting me share “Living Life” through “Photography”.

If you use one of my images, please email me. I would be interested to know how my work is being used.
