I want to find out more on Dreamstime's customer what preferable image size or price they usually needs. Today I got $4 sold on this image with maximum size downloaded. This is the highest selling price I got after the 12 sold images. And what is your maximum value and size you image that sold?

// .... quote .... 12/Dec/07 .... Hi Charlotte, Thank you for your interest of my photo. For your information. this photo was taken in China southern part of HuNan province, Zhi Xin city, little east river. There is a hydrodynamic power generator that produce lots of hot water flowing down to the river and steam start to rise. This is were mist is generated. The best time to take photo is between April to October.
Hope this is enough information for you. Can I read your NGO's brochure from web? Have a good day!

on December 11, 2007 Congratulation! Jsternig, I can't imagine just a simple flying baseball like image can sell for $1,500. That is wonderful. That is almost a D300 cost. I learn this lesson anyway. Thanks for sharing.

on December 10, 2007 Hi Dong, How did you know the sold different images size for the same price? I can only know the price sold and trace the price tag myself to find out what size is it for that selling price.

on December 10, 2007 congratulations! I only sold two pix, many pix uploaded were refused by the editors for the reason of poor light, color or contrast. it is hard for me to understand commerical pix yet. the two pix I sold, are both 6MP pix, one was used in small size, and the other was large size, but the price is same, $0.60 for each, don't kown why. on December 09, 2007 Hi good morning Rui, Your words triggled me to work harder for more uploading and go for the assignment. But for sure by more uploading will bring you more selling opportunities. Thanks for your kind explanations.

on December 09, 2007 Hi Tin, All sales are all good sales :-) Of course you have to think about a long term service, meaning that a good balance between subscription sales and individual sales is the best deal for me. After that, any EL sale is a blessed one. As I said, there are always two sides on the same coin. Think about 1.000 sales for one particular image for $0.30 subscription, giving you about $300. This is one side of the coin. Now, the other one, would be reaching that exact same ammount through regular $4 sales (or more, if exclusive or under additional format), it should have to be downloaded 75 times... ;-) See the point?
Now, think about other aspects: what kind of sales gave you more exposure? Which of the two scenarios pushed your image into higher level pricings? First one (1000 downloads), would put that image into Level 5 pricing), right?. The second one (75 downloads), would put the image in Level 4 (for more about New Image Levels click HERE).
From my experience, there's a lot of maths and marketing on the subject, but one thing is for sure: Both of us have to keep uploading and investing on what will always be a long term business. Don't forget to read Ellen Boughn's excellent blog about a good stock image HERE.
Guess there will always be more parallell activities than just click and upload..
All the best! Rui |

on December 08, 2007 Thanks for your comment. Rui. Look like the range from $0.30 to $4 are most preferable. The precentage of $25 like Mavy2k may be less. And $1.80 from Omegatransfer should be good. Isn't it? Tin |

on December 08, 2007 Congrats! You really have a nice portfolio. I have had some good individual sales, ranging from the *annoying* subscription $0.30 to $4 too. Never had any EL sale, but it will come :-). One other thing that really helps to reach higher individual incomes, is to submit frequently to Assignments, so that you can get into level 5 images. The new image levels also helps a lot, but tyhe other side of the coin are the subscription sales... :-) Keep up the good work, Tin! Rui |

on December 07, 2007 $25 on a christmas image, I was rather surprised. The 25$ is enough to pay my petrol from home to my studio for one trip! |
