3 stock lessons     posted on 22nd of january, 2008

Making progress slowly. I've learned a couple things about stock photography as I've been uploading.

1. Pretty is nice but good light is better

2. The shot must support more than one story

3. I still don't have a handle on 1 and 2

I'm hoping there isn't a penalty to trying too hard. :)

I love point #2! Number 1 is pretty good, too. It's been tough for me to transition from trying for 'pretty' photos to stock shots that might sell.

Ha ha you are funny. Shoot what you love, and do it better than anyone else ;-)

    About Me
Amy Nicolai (Amyemilia)
Houston, US

I've been taking photographs since I was in my early teens, and I embraced the digital format in 2003, almost 40 years later. Now, I'm venturing into selling my work, and my entries on Dreamstime are my first effort. Please feel free to provide comments and criticism - I am always learning!

I maintain a Flickr photostream as well as my blog site above. My user name on Flickr is AmyEmilia (surprise, eh!)
