I really struggled with these dried chillis. I mean they are just too smoky and dark to really pop off the page.

Perhaps you could add some other ingredients in the background that have more color to them. Or better yet, some undried peppers. DeniseBeverly's suggestion of a colorful plate is something you could probably photoshop in fairly easily too.

maybe if they were on a colorful plate or a cutting board it would set them off and accent the textures and color??
