I have read many articles and reviews about white balance in photographs. It seems to me that the main point is that it is important to achieve colors so that white on photograps has to look like neutral white on sunny midday.
And when lighting conditions are different, we should compensate this in our cameras or color tune photos later with photo editing software.
My opinion is that this may be true partially. I believe this is true in portrait photography and when shooting in daylight conditions.
This could be true when I take a photo in different lighting
conditions and if I want it to look like it was shot on a sunny day.
What is true in other cases?
I believe that photography one way or another is a way to capture a moment, one single moment. This moment can create emotions or show emotions.Many possibilities ...
My point is that white does not have to look white all the time. Because after all it is a moment that is captured.
For example in a cloudy day a wall that usually looks white looks blueish - but that´s ok. Why? Because in that moment that wall is blueish and this is natural, no need to change the way things just are.
If I want to change color tones and balance in order to express something then this is OK but it is not the same.
These are just some of my thoughts. But what do you think? Does white color has to be white in every photo?
