Having worked my entire life dealing with the public, raising children, and being the all around "doer of everything" for my family, I found myself retired and somewhat disabled due to some back problems. I have always loved art and photography, I have a closet full of cameras and lenses that are gathering dust since the introduction of Digital cameras. With all children now happily married and raising their own families, I began to take pictures and tried to learn all I could about creating digital illustrations, using a combination of images and graphics. At first this was to fight the boredom and occasional slight depression of being unable to work. Then I read an article about stock photography and decided to give it a shot. To my surprise, my images started selling, since then, I have not be disappointed and just love doing what I am doing now. I know I am never going to get rich doing this, but the joy I get every time one of my images is downloaded makes the effort very easy and keeps me busy. Thanks for reading this, (my first blog). Now, How about you?

on March 20, 2008 Stock photography is a nice way to continuously improve our capabilities, to be more creative, to compare with others. I think it's a personal growth. |

on March 17, 2008 As a follow up, I would like to say, that I enjoy uploading my images because of all the "Firsts" First download, first payout, first positive comment, first blog response, and as of yesterday, first image to reach level 2 on Dreamstime. This week makes 2 months since my first image went live. I am thrilled with how my images have been received. Thank you to all who have downloaded them. |

on March 17, 2008 Plain and simple, it's my personal time and something nobody can take away from me.
The financial incentive is not really what drives me to micro stock, instead I upload my photographs and illustrations in the hopes that somebody out there will enjoy them. Even if for a brief instant :-)
Maybe in five years I'll take out my money and buy myself the camera I've always wanted. Or lets just say its an investment..... My grandchildren will inherit my user name and password hahaha. |

on March 12, 2008 Very nice flowers and butterflies border in your blog. I was drawn back to the camera after being away from it for years. Work and stolen equipment got in the way. Stock has exposed me to so much more than just photos. Always inspiring looking at others skills and products. |

on March 10, 2008 For me, "stock" is a way for me to interact (share) my passion for photography. Some of the sites I upload to have the "family" feeling to them, some have the "educational" atmosphere, and some are just downright fun. We are all on different levels (even the ones who are pulling in the big bucks!), but we can all learn something from someone. I guess that's why I enjoy stock. |

on March 10, 2008 It gives me an outlet that is all mine. I have spent the last 40 years being Mother daughter Wife Grandmother trying to be all for everyone. Now that I have discovered Stock Photography, I can do a little for myself. Just going for a walk in the mountains gives me a chance to express myself through Photography. and if someone likes what I do GREAT!! if not oh well..... |
