Wide Angle - Olympus user?     posted on 4th of march, 2008

I absolutely love taking landscape photographs but I feel that i would benefit from a wide angle lens.

I am currently using an Olympus e-400 with the supplied kit lenses, which are great but not exactly wide angle. The two lenses I have been looking into are the 7-14mm f4 Zuiko or the 11-22mm f2.8-3.5 Zuiko. The former is obviously a lot more expensive and would be quite an investment but i'm not sure if the 11-22mm would be wide enough to make that much difference for the 14-52 kit lens. Does anyone have one of these lenses and which would you recommend?

I am keen to try out the wide angle as I have seen some great landscape shots with dramatic cloud formations that seem more pronounced with this sort of lens. I would be ...

Good point. Metalrose... I read about the 9-18 the other day. It's probably worth waiting for...or maybe they will reduce the price of the others! Thanks for your comments. - posted by Cleaper on June 18, 2008
7-14 is a king, but much more expensive. Maybe you can wait for the 9-18 which will be released some months later. - posted by Metalrose on June 18, 2008
Hi, both the 7-14 and the 11-22 are amazing lenses, crisp and sharp. I don't own them, but I have the 12-60 that is equally very good. Whatever you choose, you won't be wrong: zuiko lenses are famous for their excellent quality. As for dramatic skies, you use a good polarizer to improve the contrast and make the blue deeper. Happy Easter everyone!     posted on 20th of march, 2008

Happy Easter to all Dreamstimers!

I personally can not wait for a couple of days out of the office to spend time taking some new shots. Time to spend with the family and to go visiting new locations with my camera - sounds perfect.

I'm thinking of going to a Kent wildlife park to see if I can get any good animal shots as well as to the local beaches. What are your plans for the holiday?
