Buying A New Camera     posted on 3rd of april, 2008

Next week I am finally going to buy a DSLR, and I can't wait! For now I have been shooting with a point & shoot, and while it takes decent pictures, it takes a lot of post processing work to get them up to par with the reviewer's standards.

I am getting a Canon Rebel XT (350D) used from a person on craigslist. I also am going to pick up the Canon EF 50mm f1.8 lens as my first lens for it.

Great! You'll love the 350D...and that's a good little lens too. I have both and love them.

Shoot RAW from the start. It's easier than you think, and the processing is easier and has more latitude than jpeg. Life has not been the same since I started shooting RAW in 2005. All the nasty jpeg headaches gone, no more artifacting, etc. Have fun with the new cam. You will enjoy it.
