My first year on DT     posted on 21st of april, 2008

I joined on March 30th last year , uploaded 2 photos for fun and then went on holiday till May. Suprise surprise! those two photos sold.

So when I came back in May last year, I started uploading and learnt the hard way with a low AR.

I never celebrated when I reached 50 uploads, or 100, and I said I would celebrate when my down loads were more than uploads, or an image went to level 2, or 200 uploads, whichever came first.

This weekend my downloads were more than uploads! I also have 2 images that need only one more download to reach level 2!

I have a small portfolio of 170 which sat at 50 uploads for many months, so I thank those designers who have downloaded my images.

My highest image revenue was for my Russian-Blue cat bellagio.

living in Italy

So what has your first year been like?

Thanks for your encouragement Mailthepic. You are on my list of favorite photogs and your shots taught me more about composition.
I like the vacumn cleaning man too! (if you know what I mean).
My funny-beautiful cat keeps me entertained while I wait for reviews.

Hi Bigpressphoto,

Nicely written. For me Quality is important than quantity. Your portfolio is small but has lots of beautiful photos. I simply don’t know how I missed those cat pics. They are fabulous. Best luck for your future plans.

Take care.

I've only been here for 4 months. But I've learned a lot, and am seeing the world in yet another way, for which I am very grateful. Every magazine and catalog, every website that features photographs - all of them are teaching places, showing me what kinds of photos designers buy and use.

You've had terrific success! Perhaps I should get a cat? :)

I have only been here for a few months and so far, the experience has been only positive. This is my #1 site. Great format and so easy to navigate and the contiributors are all so very positive and helpful. Good luck to you in the coming years.
