One of the Most Photographed Mountains in the World     posted on 2nd of may, 2008

I live not far from Mt Shuksan, what several websites call the most photographed mountain in the world. I don't know for sure that it is the most photographed mountain in the world, but I know that I have been obsessed with photographing it over the last 15 years.

What makes Mt Shuksan at 9127 feet tall so amazing is not its height, but the mix of craggy rocks, glaciers, and snow. Whether I am out hiking, or skiing nearby, I find myself compelled to shoot pictures of Mt Shuksan.

 

Mt Baker Ski area is nearby to Mt Shuksan, it is actually located right next to the Shuksan Arm, and close to Shuksan than it is to Mt Baker. As you ride the chair lift at the ski area, you can get an amazing view of the mountain.

My First Lightbox Photos     posted on 5th of may, 2008

After reading several articles, I decided to build my own lightbox for doing macro work.

Here is my first set of approved photos that I shot using my lightbox.

The coffee beans were my favorite of these three.

The keys were first rejected, then I cleaned up the picture, cropped the image down, cleaned up the white background, ran some filters to improve the image quality, and removed some speckles from the orange area. Then resubmitted it and it was accepted. - posted by Sstedman on May 16, 2008
