Over 500 years old, the Black Church is the most representative historic monument in Brasov, the greatest Gothic church in Transylvania and the greatest religious edifice from Vienna to Istanbul.

The construction began around 1380 (between 1383 and 1385) and initially it was named Saint Mary’s Church. In 1421 an important part of the construction was destroyed during the turkish invasion, and that is why the church was completely built only in 1477.

The dimension of the cathedral are: 90 meters in length, between 25 and 37 meters wide, 65 meters from the floor level to the highest point of its tower. Inside is the biggest bell in the country, weighting 6.3 tones,...

The Dragon`s Garden from Galgaul Almasului (Gradina Zmeilor in romanian) is an ensemble of high formations, with strange figures cut in sandstone by wind and water erosion.

This natural reservation site is located in the Western Carpathians (Apuseni). Young oak-trees and strange shaped formations of sandstone (from the early Miocene - 20 million years ago), with insertions of gravel and stone made this ensemble of towers with 10-12 highness.

The Rupea Fortress is located in center of Romania, in Brasov county at 500 meters altitude, in vicinity Olt River, national highway from Brasov to Cluj-Napoca and on the western side of Rupea city. The fortress was built on a basalt rocky hill.

In Dacian times, on the top of a basalt rock there was a fortress that is said to be named Ramidava (or Rumidava, in the other sources). During the XIV century, the Saxons found the fortress destroyed and they built on its ruins, on several steps, a peasant fortress (in 1324 is mentioned „Castrum Kuholm” where the refugees found a hidden place in the citadel running from the fury of the Hungarian king Robert Carol's army).

The Church from the Hill (Bergkirch in german) is an old saxon cathedral of Sighisoara (the third great church in Transylvania), built between 1345-1525. is with no doubt the most valuable architectonical monument of the city. This church is under St. Nicholas'patronage. The church includes the two older constructions on the superior plateau of the hill: a Romanic chapel and a quadrilateral dungeon. On 20-22 July 2008 was the first edition of Brasov’s Medieval Feasts. The event managed to revive the medieval atmosphere of this famous medieval burg.

For three days, the audience was immerged into real-like medieval ambiance, they could listen and see medieval music and dance or watch the first knights and horses tournament ever organized in Romania.

In the images you can see the mobilization of medieval Szekler army, and fighting with signals and 12 meters torch, and medieval suit of a woman.
