I wish I had more time...

Since I have kicked my other agencies to the curb (minus the 35 images that I am waiting to be eligible to be deleted at one agency), I have more time to do other things. So, why do I STILL wish I had more time? Because I know I could make a living doing photography. Problem is that I am only 6 years away from retirement from the Army. I couldn't get out if I wanted to because of my service obligation, but to do so would be throwing away alot of great benefits that will make my life a thousand times easier once I do start my new career as a photographer.

As I look around DT at all the great photographers and their portfolios, I get a little jealous, because I know I could compete if I just had more time to devote to my photography. I look forward to being 'a professional' rather than a 'weekend warrior'.

When I retire in 2013, lookout!!!

	Posted by Cleaper on July 23, 2008 I totally agree - I wish I could spend all of my day taking photographs..instead it is pushed to the occasional free day on the weekend. I would say that I have about another 30 years though before I can retire so it is a long wait!!...oh unless I suddenly make a million with my small portfolio!

Keep taking the pictures when you can, then, by the time you retire, you will have a treasure chest full of good material that never goes bad on discs. 	Posted by Mattography on July 21, 2008 I agree with you completely that there is never enough time to do everything that you want to do, that is why it is so important that when we do have the time to take pictures that we can appreciate it as much as possible. Photography is a luxury that we have in life, and we must never take it for granted.
