On a recent trip through the country side to a nearby town with my wife we passed an irrigation system on a farmers field.
This was the kind that works itself accross the field as it sprays water.
It looked rather interesting and I told my wife that we need to take a look at that on the way home because it will work itself closer to the road and might be a worthy photo.
So on the way home just as we were getting close to the irrigation system and my wife mentioned that it looked like it was going to be a pretty sunset.
When we turned the corner and saw the irrigation system all I heard from my wife was oh my God look at that.
The sun setting light was hitting the water spray like a lasser show.
It had the myst doing rainbows and backlite every thing.
I was so excited I almost wet myself.
This is a photographers perfect set up.
It's not an animal that you see for 30 seconds and it's gone.
It's not a shot that you get one chance at and hope and pray you got it.
It's a photo opportunity that you have about twenty minutes to try anything you want to get the photo you desire.
When faced with such a treat I bracket everything.
I take short exsposures, long exposures. different angles.
Different shutter speeds, Everything in the book, and then some.
With this type of photo it's hard to tell what the sensors are seeing so it's only good sense to bracket. And as I said I had twenty minutes before dark to play with it.
So out of about thirty shots I ended up with eight I really liked.
So when given the chance take the time to get the shot you want.
