The reasons I don’t like blogs.

You know what? I don’t like blogs. I mean the idea of writing a blog has always seemed peculiar to me. Here are my reasons:

1.Okay, blog is another way of communication. But it pretty reminds of shouting in the crowded street – you never know who will be listening to you. Actually, I have very little or no information that I would like to communicate to the unknown audience.

2.If blog is a diary, why to publish it?

3.Blog is a new mass communication media, like a magazine or a newspaper. Publishing your own magazine – how thrilling! Not for me, actually, I simply have nothing special to tell to the world.

4.Trying to talk to everyone often means talking to nobody.

But then I thought it might be a mistake. It happens so often: instead of opening your eyes and seeing something new & promising, you close the eyes and repeat well-known things again and again.

So, am I wrong about the blogs?

Maigi and Talanis: Those are two of the best comments/posts I've read in a long time. I love blogs... purely because every now and again you come across pieces of wisdom just like those. :)

It's like with any art. Why do you make photos? Do you always know who will look your photos or who will like them? Blogging is just a form of giving, sharing. You give a piece of yourself, your thoughts, your feelings, your experience. Sometimes you do it for yourself, sometimes you just hope deep inside, your lines will make somebody happy, move them to do more good, motivate them. It's just an art.

There could be other reasons to publish a blog. My family and friends live as close as 5 minutes on foot but as far as 12h car ride. I have 2 small kids (3 and 5 yo). So I publish a blog for my family and friends so they can see the kids growing. I get slap when I do not update it often enough. My parents love to see the pictures and here the story (they live far and we see them 2 times a year). In my case, I know exactely who reads my blog and what is his purpose and (small) scope.
