Amazing Photo Road Trip!     posted on 12th of august, 2008

I had the rare opportunity to indulge my passion for both photography and sports cars by taking a road trip this past July through Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and then back through Tennessee and Arkansas on the way home to Texas. Not only did I get to see and photograph some of the most beautiful scenery in these states but also drive some of the most incredible roads for sports cars (a Porsche Boxster in this case) including the well-known "Tail of The Dragon" - a section of Highway 129 that winds through the Smoky Mountains between North Carolina and Tennessee. The "Tail" section is the portion of Highway 129 that has 300 turns within an 11 mile stretch. The beautiful scenery and cool mountain air was refreshing (causing me to frequently stop at traffic...

    About Me
Ken Hurst (Kenhurst)
Waxahachie, Tx, US

My interest in photography began during my years in college when I was given a Kodak Retina Reflex IV camera that had a broken light meter. That broken light meter forced me to acquire an understanding of the fundamentals of light, lenses, and film. Those early experiences were rewarding and have led to a lifelong passion for photography.

Following those college years I went on to be a band director and professional musician in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area for over twenty five years (and a two year stay in Northwestern New Mexico - a paradise for photography) while continuing to pursue my love of photography.

From this lifelong passion my wife Sandy and I have now created a thriving photography business and we hope to continually add more images to our stock photography portfolio.

I hope that you enjoy my photographic work as much as I have enjoyed creating it. I hope you find images in my portfolio that will be useful to you with your projects.

Ken
