Businessweek article - digi photo scrapbooking biz

posted on 2nd of january, 2008

I stumbled upon this article from businessweek.com, on home based businesses,
and the second page of the article is on digi photography scrapbooking.
I have a ton of mine waiting approval.

Here’s the excerpt:

“Digital photography also provides what you think might be a huge market in “scrapbooking.” But hasn’t that trend already peaked?

You’re right that people have been teaching scrapbooking workshops and selling products for several years now. But our idea is a twist on that, as an opportunity for the home-based entrepreneur to market herself as a professional scrapbook artist. The reality is that we all have these digital cameras that take beautiful pictures, but they...

I read the article. What did you mean in your second sentence "I have a ton of mine waiting approval"? Here with DT like the flowers above or with the scrapbooking site?

webphotoschool.com $10 for 1 month access to all lessons

posted on 3rd of january, 2008

I just signed up through www.webphotoschool.com and the lessons are great! They have plans ranging from $9.99 for 1 month and access to all lessons, 3 months $24.99, 6 months $44.99, and $79.99 for 1 year, access to all lessons and instructor interaction. I went ahead and subscribed for a year. I'm a human interaction education addict! lol
I'm also about to take a stock photography class through www.betterphoto.com/, this is the class description, 7 spots left: stock photography boot camp.

Hi Bluearth! I love ppsop the most. I got a lot out of it. The most helpful was the Understanding Exposure course, now I only shoot in Manual and I know how to get that perfect exposure without using auto!

Webphotoschool has A LOT of info, tons of courses on many subjects. Many on product photos, glamor shots, studio portraits, everything! And the price is very right.

I would start with webphotoschool for 1 month, see how far it will take you. I would also research as much on your own about shooting in Manual. I learned that all the professionals always shoot in manual. So if you can teach yourself that first, all of the classes in webphotoschool will be easy breezy!!!!

Hi. It's been 6 mos or so since you wrote this. Can you please tell me what you think of these online courses so far? Which is best for a beginner, also interested in learning Photoshop? Did you get good value for the money?

Another good one is www.kelbytraining.com. More photoshop related but also some photo lighting techniques, etc. You can get the first 3 lessons in a series for free to sample it, so you know what you are going to get out of it. They have a monthly plan, or annual. How did your Betterphoto class go?
