In the first days of August, I had a trip back from Oberalppass to Zurich. In Brunen we decided not to go home with train and we took a ship to Luzern, over the lake with the same name. Very good option because was the first travel with a ship, outside Romania (in my country I was only on Danube Delta with water transportation) and because this lake is surrounded by mountains. In only one hour and a half we arrived in the most beautiful city of Switzerland: Luzern/Lucerne. Of course you cannot travel in a landmark without know something about that places. So I search to some words about Luzern and around Luzern. Luzern City Lucerne (Luzern or Lucerna)... [ Read more... ]

My 600th image is online from today. I am glad that is one of my favorites shots from the trip in Switzerland (in this summer). I have many hopes with the pictures from Alpiglen (with the Wetterhorn mountain in background) because i consider it the most well performed from the travel. I am waiting for the next milestone, because i have a new camera and new possibilities with this.

The Council Square (Piata Sfatului) is the heart of the old medieval Brasov. Lined with beautiful red-roofed merchant houses, the square is one of the finest in the country. The former Markplatz square obtained its right to held markets in 1520, but it has been the place for annual markets since 1364 being visited by merchants from the country and abroad. The houses surrounding the square speak of a rich history. A pillory, in the middle of the square, was used as a means for public humiliation, punishment and scorn. Witches were also punished here, but the head of the shoemaker guild, Stefan Stenert, who opposed the entry of the Austrian army into Brasov, was also beheaded here in 1688. Till 1892 there have been ... [ Read more... ]

Hello. Like i said, i use the money earned on Dreamstime, to change my camera. Now i have a Nikon D80 SLR camera, with new perspectives for me in photography. This picture is one of the first made with D80, in a beautiful day of autumn in Romania mountains (National Park of Piatra Craiului). The entire Piatra Craiului National Park is located in the Meridional Carpathians, and it also includes parts of the neighboring mountain passes Rucar-Bran and Rucar-Zarnesti. The Piatra Craiului National Park stretches over the counties of Brasov and Arges, including areas belonging to the towns of Zarnesti, Moeciu (Magura and Pestera villages), Bran, Rucar and Dambovicioara. This picture is made in Magura village, on 4 october 2008. The quality of images is better. I don`... [ Read more... ]

I remember that when i was student at Geography Faculty in Romania, some of my teachers put as to make maps with population of the world (population by countries, density, human development index, structure by sex and others). They gived us some copied blank maps of paper and told us to color them with coloured pencils. The new technologies give now the chance to make this maps easier and more beautiful. I made two vectorial maps, coloured by legend, with data collected in 2008 (by UN estimation or countries census), and with some new countries (recognized or not by UN), like Abkhazia or Kosovo. This maps can be edited and coloured in other choices, because i upload the EPS format too. I hope is a new opportunity for students, to use my maps. Good luck.
