1st Month of Being Exclusive

posted on 1st of october, 2008

At the end of August, I decided to be an exclusive contributer to Dreamstime. It took me a long time to make this decision. I'm still relatively new to stock photography. I've been here for almost 1 year. At the beginning, I thought the best way to fund my hobby was to submit my photos that I taken anyway to multiple sites thus increasing my sales. I figured since I took the photo, edited the photo, and keyworded them, why not upload to other sites since the work is already done anyway. It turns out it's much more complicated and more work than I thought to contribute to multiple sites. As I looked through the other microstock sites and their forums, I find out that their requirements with respect to keywords and acceptance of photos are very different from site to site. Also...

Who is doing well being Exclusive here?

posted on 3rd of october, 2008

I recently wrote an article about being exclusive.
1st Month of Being Exlusive

I thought that the blog maybe useful for those who are on the fence and deciding whether or not to be exclusive. But what I thought would be more useful is seeing how others are doing after being exclusive.

I wanted to edit that blog to ask for contributions and comments from others but not sure how to edit after it is published. So this blog is going to be a survey opinion blog. For those who are exclusive contributors, please contribute your thoughts in the comments sections to help others decide. Thanks.

Hey Brad. You portfolio is looking great. It looks like your photography is keeping you pretty busy nowadays since your portfolio is much larger than when I looked at it last.

IF microstock were my only interest i would go exclusive

if you want to sell on rights managed sites, want to sell prints, shirts, cards,or gift items on a print on demand, want to market your art of any type not just rf stock shots, on sites or have your artwork locally....then do not go exclusive.

someone else could do those things with your art but you cannot. i just ended my exclusive status this week for the above reasons.

if the only thing i wanted to do with my images was submit them here and be content with someone else using them, or did not want to market them myself elsewhere.... i would be exclusive here.

however i have to say that apart from the bonuses i got when i signed on to exclusive, i did not see a major difference in sales after the first week or so.

Another Wedding Season Over

posted on 8th of october, 2008

I love shooting weddings for friends and family. Weddings are so beautiful and emotional and brings a feeling of joy. Sadly in colder climates, weddings tend to slow down in Fall. Weddings is a good place to think about stock photography. First of all the models and objects such as food, decorations, and flowers always look their best. And second people don't mind you taking photos since everyone else is also. Just make sure you don't block the hired wedding photographer since the Bride and Groom paid big bucks for that. Here are some of my latest wedding additions. Please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

Increasing your earnings instantly today!!!! Here's How.

posted on 27th of october, 2008

One of the largest topics on news broadcasts lately everywhere is the financial crisis or credit crisis. It has lead to extreme market volatility and market upswings and downswings. Some people are losing lots of equity, whiles others are trying to capture it and get things at a bargain. Now regardless of what your theory is in investing. Whether you are putting your money in a secure bond or value investing. One things for sure, you can use the current market right now to increase your earnings instantly on Dreamstime depending on where you are living in the world right now. How?
