After I found out about stock-photography about half a year ago, I decided to give it a try. It gave me a more or less purposeful activity to kill my days filled with boredom due to health-problems. I went through all my old photo's, got loads and loads rejected, but slowly I managed to build up a start of a portfolio.
Scanning (almost;o) the entire DT database, I felt I would never be able to sell anything, with all these beautifull and professional pics for the buyers to choose from surrounding my simple amateur ones. But then, much to my surprise, the first sales started to trickle in. Boy, was I excited!!
Now, some 5 months have past, and I've had 102 downloads. Yesterdag was my BDE (best day ever) with 4 dl's in 1 day!! I was totally flabbergasted and very very happy. I do not have a single clue why these simple house-and-garden-pics do sell as well as they do, but hey, it's ok with me ;o)
Luckily my health seems to be picking up again, and now I want to go out and shoot as much as I can, wich is great motivation and excercise to slowly build up my condition to a more normal standard again.
So here I sit, smiling and a bit stunned behind (well, in fact under;o) my laptop feeling very, very lucky about this new adventure, wich gives me opportunities in many more than 1 way.
