New ideas: thermic photos!     posted on 4th of february, 2009

I'm an illustrator, I'm not a photographer. But some weeks ago I had the occasion of using a very particular camera: the thermographic camera.
A thermographic camera is a device that forms an image using infrared radiation and making visible the heat of the model.
I'm felt in love with it!! My traditional photo are not good for DT, 'cause, you know, there's a lot of good real photographers here! But this kind of artistic images are different.
Look at this hand for example.
This is a shot of an empty cold wall. I put my warm hand on it for some seconds, I took it away and then I took a photo of the empty wall with my heat on it.
You can take photos without any light like this nude, whitch is taken in a almost dark room.

All my thermic images are not digitally modified, no filters or special effects. No Photoshop or other software on them.
The thermic camera has different color gamuts, that's why the hand has different colors from the other photos.
My cousin is a thermic specialist, he bought this camera for energy auditing of building insulation and detection of refrigerant leaks! He is very amazed by my artistic application!
I found nearly none other images on Dreamstime like these. I checked also some other stock agencies, international and italian. Just a couple of thermic images.
I'm making also a collection of thermic photos. I have a lot of photos waiting for acceptance, so please be patient and check again this link in the future if interested.

Thank to all. It's difficult to be a photographer for me. So a lot of my thermic images were been refused but I don't give up! Some accepted photos already have been bought! Very good!
