Japan, color in the dark

posted on 26th of february, 2009

I just got back from Japan and had a great time. I shot up the place and came home with some really wonderful, or so I think, images.

While there... I got into the habit of walking out of my hotel and just wandering the streets late into the night and into the morning. I spent most of my time in Tokyo so this is where I really captured my favorite night images that I will now share with you. I will be updating my portfolio with Japan images in the coming days/weeks.

For your consideration, Salvador Ceja.

Thanks for all the possitive remarks.

I really liked the toilets as well, they have seat warmers..... a great thing to have in winter :)

haha. Brad. I see the shot in your portfolio now. Those toilets are so innovative. Hoping you are having a blast in Japan.

Funny you should say that, Retina2020 - I have one in the queue!

Truly, they are incredible shots. I live in Japan now, and I hope to get many more shots before returning to the US. Now that I have a DSLR, I'm shooting a lot more than with film. I'll probably be in Tokyo in April sometime. I hope to get some good shots then.
Your use of color and composition makes the images so dynamic.

Great Photos. Salvador. Such a coincidence. I was in Tokyo during the Christmas. Japan is a great country. People there seem to take very great pride in making everything with great care. Probably one of the safest places to wander around at night.

Hey Brad. You should take a picture of one of their innovative toilets. By the time I got to my last hotel, they didn't have them so I missed my chance. :(

Very nice shots Salvador, love night scenes.

Bradcalkinks, here is hoping you get some great shots, as you always do.

Nice shots! I'm in Japan right now too, but not much around my hotel at night - and no time during the day. Hopefully the weekend brings some time to shoot pics...
