I was willing to purchase a macro lens from many days, was unable to afford but finally I have recently purchased new macro lens which is Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM

I really love closeup & macro photography. Before purchasing this specialized lens I was using some local closeup filters with diopter +1,+2,+4 & +10. These filters were helping me to go close but it's really difficult to obtain quality photographs. Especially with +10 one gets very high distortion in corners, purple fringing,low sharpness & worst chromatic aberrations.May be this is not a big problem with quality close up filters.

I have not considered 100mm/2.8,though it's a very good lens because it was still costly for me & 60mm/F2.8 was good enough for my crop body sensor of 400D.In future it's not likely for me to go for FF body camera.


Well I was curious to use it on my camera & see the results after reading so many good reviews. I must admit I am really satisfied with it & sharing some images recently accepted on dreamstime in this blog.

I am really having fun with this lens & it is at least driving me to see the beauty. You can also visit my site removed by admin to view other images taken with this lens.

I have yet to explore it's use with extension tube for getting more magnification than 1:1 as well as it's use for serious portrait work.
I am impressed with its very well controlled chromatic aberrations & good sharpness.I will also like to get some tips & notes from the users of this lens.
