When you get the latest uploads on DT you don't keyword also... Many recent latest most popular...etc are linked directly from the main page... These are considered ways to attract the buyer.

Out of my 7 sales I had only one keyworded. And until recently I didn't write blogs nor created collections. And some of those sales didn't come directly after putting them on-line. So I don't know how they ended up by my pictures?
I have had 51 non keyworded sales, therefore roughly 44% of total sales, although I am not sure whether these came from exposure through blog articles etc or not I do feel blog articles increase overall exposure,I have also been added to 2 buyers favorite lists through blog articles.

Hey Caroline, thank you for getting me more exposed ;)

I've put two of your images into my "nature details" collection. That may help to bring more traffic to your port and hopefully sales. Every little bit helps ;0)

Activity on my port has risen a little, but no sales came out of it. Just have to keep on reading blogs to improve my skills, and use it to make better pictures! Keep on writing blogs to get some new friends and share my experiences. ;)
I am not sure if blogs have anything at all to do with sales but I would tend to think not. It's sort of the same way that forum posting has little or nothing to do with them...
Blogs serve as an exchange of ideas, which can improve your craft, and that can lead to more sales. Its a place you can also have fun and make friends.
I think writing blogs can help make you become more popular (more viewers). But in terms of getting more sells I don't think so.
I also look at others people's ports,I 've seen all your ports. Some nice and interesting stuff in it! It really helps to get some inspiration and you get to know what works and what doesn't in micro stock. I checked google and indeed these blogs are high in list, just as the Dreamstime profiles are! Maybe that can help to attract some buyers. It is also nice to have some posts in my mailbox over here. good luck to you all :)

I don't know if blogs help us raise our sales but I'm absolutely agree with what Wildmac said! DT is one big family for me. There are no other such friendly and helpful people! And yes, Maen, I'm angry with you! You could buy one of my photos! Friend!!! :) Dirk, you have some awesome photos! Good luck!

i think it may increase your portfolio exposure - I often click and browse through other contributors portfolio after reading their blog. not sure that helps sales .. but hey! and increase in a figure is always a plus no?

I think drop by drop everything helps ;) By the way, DT blog articles are high in google.

I think blogs mainly attract the attention of other contributors, not buyers... It does help with the sense of community here!

As I said Dirk they exist on DT for business purpose also. But not uploading affects your AR which put you way behind in the search results! So please becareful of mixing the things... Through the blogs I met a friend and after checking his portfolio I ended up buying two of his photos! I hope I helped you more and I hope my other friends won't be angry with me :))

Indeed, that was what I thought! It is very interesting to read about the experiences other contributors have. And actually you can learn a lot reading these blogs. As I said this was my first one, but I've read already a whole lot of them. It is nice to know that we al have to go through the same experiences, rejections, pictures we really oike that won't sell and after a certain learning process find out which pictures to take to be successful in micro stock. I still have a lot to learn. Just before going to bed I have to say that it's nice to meet you all! Cheers ;)

I'm not sure if it helps sales to blog or not, but it certainly helps you to meet fellow DT contributors. I think that when you blog and also comment on other peoples blogs you help to create the great sense of community feeling that DT has. I don't look at fellow contributors here as competition for my potential earnings (I might not be very business minded) but as friends who are learning along with me. Just what I feel anyway. Cheers :0)

Thanks for your comments. I've already seen and read a lot of your blogs Maen, You are really active in this way. If your sales all were key-worded, does it mean that blogs don't increase your sales? Collections could be more interesting because they are more "visable" to the buyers. Or am I wrong? FOr the uploads I don't mean the fact that the number of available pictures rises. Of course this will help raise the sales. But what I mean is that when you have a large port and stop to upload for half a year or so, will this effect the sales significantly? Greetings ;)

I blog often some useful others for fun but it's always good to show up your photos... Nice Collections get you traffic that might end up with sales! All these options on DT are made to help the business as obvious! BTW all my sales were key-worded! Cheers ;)

I haven't written any blog so I cannot really testify if it helps sale but I have heard it does if your blog is useful and becomes popular. As for regular uploads, of course it helps sales.
