It's like looking for a needle in a haystack, isn't it?
I guess many pictures are used for purposes that won't show up on a search engine - company brochures, internal presentations. Then copyrights are probably not always written properly, maybe some books write Copyright Dreamstime but do not specify the author (I've come across that). Then maybe some pictures are downloaded for personal purposes and never published...
Keep on looking and you might just get lucky, but from what I've read on the blogs, it's the ratio of sales/findings is very low. So one has to find enough satisfaction in knowing that someone somewhere liked his/her picture enough to buy it!

Hi!

Patience is key to your titled discovery.

It is normal that you can find some of your images on websites but you must have good search engine for that. Tineye is good but not good enough for all places. Also, as more images you have sold - it is more probable to find some of them online somewhere.

Good Luck!

I use google and search for my username (py2000) and dreamstime, e.g. "py2000 dreamstime"
or "dreamstime py2000" (sometimes the two return different results. From time to time, different results are returned and some of them are actually for buyers giving credits to my photos. Overall, out of my 1600+ sales so far, I have successfully found about 12 of them using this method.

There's also an image search engine called Tineye. I joined and tried it a little bit long ago but didn't find much.
