My first photograph!

posted on 5th of august, 2009

YES I finally uploaded something different that was approved!
This month I made my first photo taken by my OLYMPUS FE-360 pocket camera. It's a cam that I only use for personal photos due to the rejection on my first month on DT.

I confess that this month I ruined my AR because of this but it is worth it to try and fail till it works :)

I used some tips of some DT photographers had in their blogs and message boards "Sorry I don't remember references :(". I shot objects not people, I shot during the day light and centered the object...

Please tell me your opinion (possitive and negative ones)?

Cheers ;)

Actually I do take many photos but I just keep them for me as I know they don't have enough quality for DT. It is addictive :))

This is only the beginning of your new life BEHIND the lens! Have you figured out it's addictive yet? I really love having a grip on my own world!

The Concept of Arabic Numbers

posted on 5th of august, 2009

This time I made a special photo not only to be nice and stock seller but also because I like the concept of what it means!

Yes the concept of the arabic numbers that were invented and passed to Europe and the whole world in the 10th century...Now our day by day use almost everywhere!

I assume many like me didn't have a clue about this concept which is... The first Arabic numbers were shaped upon the number of the angles that are less than 180º... Yes Arabs on that time where involved in many studies about geometry angles and invented algebra... (Not getting into history now)

So if you look to number 1 it has only one angle that is less than 180º.
Number 2 which looked like a Z has two angles... 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 has the same concept.

For some reason number 9 has only...

Log Off, Shut Down, Go Dance...

posted on 9th of august, 2009

I just felt like sharing this with you...
Unfortunately this year I can not take holidays during summer as I started a new work, so I'm trying every now and then to take advantage of the beach and the night life... Something that Portugal have and have it strong even ;)
Last night like every Friday big movements in the streets people rushing to the restaurants bars and discos...
I decided to abandon my dumb machine for a night and go out...
Thinking of the right company... 2 calls and were 5...
Destination dance stage of the casino...
I had a lovely night, dancing, laughed alot and today I was with another spirit. (Yeah happy endings :P)

What I would like to share with you is, when you feel stressed about anything, work, ideas, changes... etc. just think...

Photos in Action

posted on 18th of august, 2009

I think I turned addicted on buying photos from DT. When I see that a photo is suitable for the subject it keeps bugging me till I get it :))

In order to put those photos in action I'll tell you the recipe:

1- Find a client that wants to advertise his business on the web;
2- Ask him for the contents (text and some photos);
3- Put your self behind the computer with photoshop and an HTML, CSS editor for a couple of hours;
4- Search DT on some photos related to the subject;
5- Download the photos and make the needed changes to adapt them;

6- Mix what you made in photoshop with the HTML code;
7- Use FTP to upload the mixture on the server.

VOILAAAA nice result that makes the client, DT,...

Protecting Downloaded Photos...

posted on 20th of august, 2009

This goes for buyers who would like to use their downloaded photos online regarding the subject. Here are some tips on how to protect these photos from being copied and used with out permission... You know it's bad for buyers as they paid for it and for photographers as they wants to sell it again!

Anyway here are some of the tips:

1. If you want to use big resolution image try to slice it in smaller pieces. In this case make sure that the slices will load in away that makes appear gradually to look normal in slower internet connections.

2. Use it in lower quality. In photoshop the option of saving photos for web is an excellent way of having light images with lower quality and without loosing the good look! (I use 65% in JPG format and selective number of colors in GIF images)...

Hi Preckas, I will try later to post a blog about how to protect photos through scripting and using disabling browser option.

Cheers ;)
Posted by Preckas on August 21, 2009
:) Good tips. I think there is also a command that does not allow you to right click on an image and copy it. Not quite sure how it works though.
Posted by Mani33 on August 20, 2009
Thanks Tangie, I forgot this one and it is important to be mentioned on a web site. I will try my best to put it in my projects where I have DT photos ;)

Thanks Irisangel :)

Thanks Seema, your image is simply great and fits the blog as well.
I'm happy to have it here also ;)

Protecting images on your website by code.

posted on 21st of august, 2009

As I mentioned in my previous blog that you have to make some editing on your downloaded images (and even the created ones) in order to prevent from illegal copy.

Here I'm going to mention some tricks with the code, that could keep away a curious amateur who is trying to copy your photos...

1- To disable the image tool bar on your internet browser you can use this meta tag in the head part of your HTML...

2- To disable the right click on a whole page with no message, add this to the body tag on your HTML...
(space)oncontextmenu="return false"

3- To disable the right click on a whole page with message alert, put this script in the head of your HTML...

4- To prevent from...

Yes indeed that program I was telling about deactivate some functions on the keyboard like Print Screen and page printing or saving offline!
The only disadvantage is that the pages will stay encrypted like unsafe pages, AND IT'S NOT COMMERCIAL :(
Posted by Tan510jomast on August 30, 2009
good ideas Mani. a deterrent at most, but like another peer said, they will still find a way around it.
another thing, would not all these be futile with Print Screen?
i know it's not the original but amateurs who will not be picky about imae resolution. unless you have also one to prevent Prt Scr.

The Concept of Arabic Numbers - Part Z

posted on 27th of august, 2009

As I mentioned in an earlier blog that the Arabic numbers has the concept of the number of the angles less than 180º...
Unfortunately this theory was never prooved 100% due to the loss of the original documents when the Viking invaded Baghdad in that era...

So my notes that I learned about this concept are illustrated in the purple illustration of numbers (I had to replace the photo)...

And the [link=http://www.dreamstime.com/origin-of-numbers-shape-v2-image10670378]...

Space Is The Limit!

posted on 30th of august, 2009

On the 27th of August I heard some inaccurate news (I don't remember if it was an e-mail!) that Mars will be the closest to earth, so it will be seen like another moon!
On that night I was driving home and suddenly when I remembered I stopped the car and had a walk to see if I can see the moon clearly!
I saw half of a moon :)) But haven't seen the other moon (Mars)! I confess I started looking to the stars like who has lost something :))

But this story has inspired me to make these illustrations...

Another thing, I would like to thank Ioana (Nikitu) because I remembered what she once said in a blog about what to do when we don't feel inspired...

I am curious about astronomy since I like the mysterious stuff of the old Egyptians and the pharaohs! Many of their phenomenons based on astrology...

Actually I couldn't see anything special on that night (Maybe for a naked eye!)
Thanks for the info.

Cause it happened 6 years ago :) Here is the article with the actual astronomic event LINK (I just love astronomy, my other hobby)
