New to the sport

posted on 27th of january, 2010

I am pretty new to this sport of microstock photography. And, I do mean sport. It has all the same elements. The challenge of shooting and image that is accepted parallels the challenge of a pitcher hitting the strike zone or a quarterback completing on a third and long play. Once you have uploaded, the key-wording of your image can be a mental battle that rivals a wimbeldon championship. A back and forth struggle to distinguish which keywords are going to be the winner. Once you have uploaded and keyworded the real battle comes from the judging by the fierce panel that so closely resembles the olympic panel of judges for the 2010 winter games.

That said, it is quite a great feeling to have your first image accepted. Now, if I could just crack the code of getting that first sale. It will happen soon. As for any sport the key is practice, practice, practice. There are some great coaches on here to learn and hone my skills and I do love sports.....
