The process of photo submissions to stock agencies has been an interesting adventure for me so far. I am currently working with 14 agencies and I have learned a lot about my images, what editors are looking for and have taken stock (no pun intended) in what I want and where I want to go. I am inspired to move forward and make this a profitable endeavor. The thrill I get when someone likes what I have created from my heart is beyond compare. Probably the most important thing I have learned is the awareness of and then the decision to upgrade my equipment. I realize I can not get to where I want to go with what I have, After all, my Canon 20D was my first digital camera that I purchased in 2005. Ancient by technology standards! So, I am purchasing a Canon EOS 1Ds. I am selling off all my Hasselblad equipment to make this happen, but I have not used that equipment in years and I can be better served by a megapixel monster like the 1Ds.
The key in this process is not to get discouraged when you receive a rejection. I have learned what one agency rejects, another accepts. I am indebted to Isyndica for making what could have been a cumbersome process much much easier. If you are in this business and are not using Isyndica, check them out. Link edited by admin.
