We have some more "Days" upon us.
Here is some info about the special dates from "The Old Farmer's Almanac".
April 30—National Arbor Day
As editor of the Nebraska City News, Julius Sterling Morton proposed the first statewide Arbor Day for April 10, 1872. Over one million trees were planted on that day.
Today Arbor Day is celebrated on the last Friday of April, although many states alter the date for local growing seasons.
“Arbor Day is not like other holidays. Each of those reposes on the past, while Arbor Day proposes for the future.” –J. Sterling Morton
In ancient times, May Day was a celebration of the return of spring and the growing season, and of life and fertility. On this day, it was once customary to leave a basket of flowers on the doorstep of a neighbor as a surprise.
In Great Britain, the custom of “bringing in the May” involves gathering “knots,” or branches with buds, on the eve or early morning of May 1. In North America, we often select forsythia, pussy willow, or lilac branches to bring spring and the prospect of new life into our homes.

It is a nice idea! My neighbor, who is living in my family's old place, is turning the yard into a showcase of blooming trees and flowers. When they really get going I'll feel like they are leaving me flowers all year long!

Lovely photos , friend. Congrats. I like the idea of leaving flowers on a neighbours doorstep.. so long as she does not have allergies to pollen, he he ! But still, it's a lovely idea whenever someone receives a good deed unsolicited... it's what makes this world a better place to be, esp with so much hatred and nasty people incest with spoiling your day. Thank goodness those spiteful gnats and cankerblossoms are in the minority , phew.., like the Ugly Red Queen in Alice's Wonderland with their bulbeous heads, lmao..
Once again, as they say, one who loves Mother Nature is the best friend to be with. If we have to spread anything , Better pollen than hated , I'd say !!! That's why the bees and butterflies are so lovely , they are too busy spreading the sweetness from flower to flower. And of course , the birds sharing their gorgeous birdsong with us all day.
