Buildings

posted on 6th of may, 2010

The architectural subjects New York City has to offer span the ages in urban design. Modern structures mingle with historic ones creating a vast cityscape of new and old. Each place tells a story, and no building's fate is ever certain. New buildings replace old, and new buildings themselves take on the toll of time and become weather stained and dilapidated.
My appreciation of urban photography from the past by such photographers as Eugene Atget spurned my interest in photos of the present cityscape. I take photos with the the knowledge that they too can serve as a record of an ever changing environment.
