I’d like to start what I call the Microstock Adventure…
A – To improve my photography skills
B – To get some professional feedback .. you’re either accepted or rejected and then you can see how many views and ultimately how many sales you are getting
C – Because I’ve read about it and I’ve seen quite a few blogs out there where people seemed to have cracked the code, so to speak
Today [in fact september 6th] is the first day I registered to 6 different Microstock Websites... the top 6 on the market!
The rest might be worthwhile to some people but as I’m starting, I’ll stick to those 6 first and then see if I have to spread out even more.
What I’d like to add is that I’m an amateur photographer. I recently bought a Nikon D90 (12.2 MP), a Marumi ring flash, a manfrotto tripod, a Gorillapod… and a Tamrac bag
I can’t say I’ve got a favorite subject although it seems Object Photography is something I quite like.. landscapes, long exposures, portraits .. a bit of everything really !
Object photography is a great deal in microstock so we’ll see how all goes. I’m sure I’ll get my share of disappointment but I’m sure at the same time this can be rewarding in terms of knowledge and skills.
I’m mainly writing this blog so I can keep a trace of the adventure but I guess this will prove useful to other people as well .. to decide whether or not they want to try that for themselves!
I'll try and post again as I go along .. so far I've got 2 portfolio of 15 images on 2 different websites ... one of 6 (Dreamstime).
The other 3 are still at the approval stage ...
With all this, I've managed a grand total of 2 sales! ... and I'm HAPPY ;)
Any comment you might have is welcome .. I'm all prepared to take criticism on the chin .. and your good comments .. to my heart :D
