Today I am celebrating my brother Terry's 58th birthday.
He died 3 years ago from Pancreatic cancer. He started reading the Bible and had found such peace that last summer.
As a child he loved to find caterpillars and butterflies in the meadow behind my parents house.
My kids get to visit there and run in the same meadow.
As an adult he became a biologist
He spent years in Guatemala studying finches
and fell in love with the country and people.
He taught at a University and earned his Doctorate there.
It is because of Terry that I was able to purchase my dslr camera and take the leap to join Dreamstime.
He believed that we should keep challenging ourselves, keep learning...keep growing.
So here I am, a 40 something mom of 7 learning about stock photography and thoroughly enjoying it.
Tomorrow marks my 2nd full year at Dreamstime. I have 436 sales and have made over $700.
Thanks for the opportunity Dreamstime!
And thank you Terry...I miss you.
Your little sis.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. We celebrated Terry's birthday by taking a hike in the woods and playing in the fallen leaves. Terry lived life to the fullest as we also strive to do.

Some people say that a s long as people keep remembering, people continue to be alive... As long as you and your family and friend remember Terry, he will be alive in all of you. So this blog is a great gift a tribute. Thanks for sharing this. Regards.

A very sad, but positive, story - I am sure that Terry would be pleased to know that you are grasping life by the horns and facing the challenge of stock, not to mention bringing up SEVEN kids - pass on Terry's approach and story and they should do well....keep smiling!

A very sad story but at the same time very constructive. I looked at you portfolio and am impressed with your achievements in such a very short time scale. Your work is a great tribute to your brother. David.
