Do you have that too???     posted on 17th of march, 2011

Last week I changed a photo, four years on DT, with 0 downloads to the Free Images. I wondered how fast and how much it was downloaded now.
Do you have that too?
Here you find two of the photo's changed to free images.

What Ebamo said is right. Buyers have a look at the free section first.
I have only one pic in Free section and it has been downloaded 47 times so far.

I've been always wondering why people are so amazed when they see their never-selling RF images are getting download after download in the Free section. Even I sometimes download free images just because they look nice on my desktop. People are thinking that when an image gets 10 downloads in the Free section, those were 10 missed RF sales, but that's not always the case. - posted by Grisho on March 17, 2011
I'm doing stock for 10 months now, so I don't have free files yet. But it'd be interesting to know if the ones that do, see an increase in sales afterwards. - posted by Diavata on March 17, 2011
Yes, I donated an image few monthes ago. It has never been downloaded for more then one year. As soon as it became free it has been downloaded more then 10 times in a week. But after one month not more then 1/2 times a moth. - posted by Trottola on March 17, 2011
I always give my images for free after they turn one year and have no sales! In my opinion, if they don`t sale in one year, no one will buy it :P And it`s ok to make some people happy, I mean those that can`t afford pictures so they take these ones for free :) - posted by Thanatonautii on March 17, 2011
I have give 5 images for free after 3 years with no sales...Now these images have been downloaded too many times. - posted by Egomezta on March 17, 2011
Yes, I had photos online that had maybe one view. Then when I made them free, they are downloaded rapidly. Well, go figure! Ihope that once they get the free ones they come and purchase something from me. :) - posted by Calyx22 on March 17, 2011

Great choice! Good luck with promoting your other photos in the portfolio with the free ones! :) - posted by Mariaam on March 17, 2011
I denoted one of mine...it has the most downloads now!
I think buyer search the free section for what they want first.
