In January I had my 100th sale on DT, got a payout, and had 99 photos on DT. Planned , to easily make it an even 100.
Well... I'm getting another payout and had close to 100 more sales here, but I've been so busy I didn't upload much ... anywhere. Couple of rejects, then uploaded one photo before I went away (more on that later) - and now I have exactly 100 photos on DT to coincide with another payout.
I can't help thinking how regular payouts would be if I uploaded regularly. I spend way too much time thinking, processing and keywording. With NX2 I can just tweak photos until they're perfect - though I think the difference between "good" and "perfect" in my eyes is probably impossible for anyone else to see. Do any of you have that problem? I'm thinking I aught just shoot jpegs (kidding-even my point & shoot shoots RAW). So I just have to get faster and settle for "good."
Right now I especially need to speed up my workflow since I just got back from a fabulous trip to Sweden, Estonia, Russia and Iceland to shoot stock. I shot about 5,000 photos. I'm making a commitment to get 100 photos from my trip up here online within the next couple of months - if I don't, I want all you guys to bug me until I do it!
Here's my hundredth photo:
And here are a few of my best sellers this week: The New York Marathon - this one sells best - actually licensed all of them this week. This blue light blur is a perennial favorite. I think it will sell for years.
Typical photo for me - I have such trouble making decisions!
And finally, this is a best-seller for me elsewhere - it's been on DT since my last big upload in January but didn't sell until this week - now it's sold twice. It's one of my favorites - I love the beach, boats, lighthouses ... summer. A few more weeks of warm weather here. Gorgeous out today.
Cleaning up from 4 feet of water from Hurricane Irene and then it's time to start processing - I'll blog about it as I go. The trip was amazing. Can't wait to get the photos online!

Thanks! Working my way through the flood damage and the portfolio - one hour on one then an hour on the other. Have a vintage photo from Estonia for the contest so hope that'll be accepted & online soon.

>Since my grandmother put a camera in my hands at the age of six, I've been hooked. Curiosity and passion for new experiences keep me from narrowing my work to one specialty so I shoot just about everything. My portraits and travel photographs have graced the cover of various local and regional magazines and newspapers and have appeared in national publications here in my native USA to as far away as Russia. Since I started shooting stock photographs a couple of years ago, I have split my time between taking photos for my editorial, advertising and individual clients and giving myself assignments to come up with stock photo concepts, as well as working as a freelance writer. My website and blog http://travelstockphotos.blogspot.com , like my career, are works in progress. I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I have enjoyed taking them!
