My most popular image is of cycling. It was not for any competition or whatnot. I was walking home through the park and saw a crowd and someone talking via the loudspeaker. So curious like the cat, I couldn't resist to walk across the Commons in Halifax to check it out.
Before I knew what was happening, I saw all these bikes getting onto the avenue, so I ran to catch this shot of them with the little boy in the front. I suppose I could fake it and tell you that I actually stood there waiting for the right shot so it sounds more interesting to write about, but not really, it was just a lucky shot, right place at the right time, I guess.
But it did help being a quick draw on the camera, as you still need to know what and when to shoot, and more importantly , change to the right lens really quickly. And finally, we are back to speed. Speed racing , to be specific.
And this time, in Montreal.
Again, it wasn't something I had planned as I was out shooting something else. After that, I was making my way to the metro to catch the next train home, and had to stop a man walking his child
to ask for directions. He pointed to the direction I should take, and said, "over there where the bicycle race is happening".
Imagine my surprise, and of course, I had to get there asap.
And that I did, to catch the end of the race, just in time.
And thus, my new editorial shots of the Grand Prix for Bicycle.
The competition was in preparation for the Tour de France.
Hope you like them, and more so, here's hoping someone in the editorial business will download them and make one of these another popular image for me.
Cheers for stopping by to read and comment. Peace.

I just happened upon a bike race myself last weekend in Burlington, VT. Exciting events to photograph. Of course mine was in a heavy downpour. Which made for some dangerous conditions.

Thanks! Good to be quick. I wish I was so speedy with my camera when I was cycling in the forest a couple of weeks ago and a wild boar mother with three young ones came straight into the path and stood there - just long enough for me to reach for the camera and then as soon as I pointed at them they all went into the woods again - all i have is a blur of greens.
