Now this one I came by completely by accident and then later I found out I wasn't the only one to see the photographic possibilities of this beautiful landscape known as Sleepy Hollow Farm.

Driving around the Woodstock Vermont area last summer, stopping to take a picture of this stunning flag draped cow barn:



I noticed the road called "Cloudland Road". Who could pass up the promise of such a road? I remember living on Mount Desert Island and how my fellow islander Martha Stewart called her estate Skylands so I figured something good had to be up the road.

I drove along the windy gravel road, taking in the rolling hills and meadows until I came across a stunningly beautiful piece of property.



I was a bit put off by the electronic gate complete with video cameras. I guess that is the downside of living on a beautiful piece of property, everyone wants to look at it and take pictures of it.

But a public road is a public road right? And I knew that the view from a public road is fair game so I stepped out and took my pictures keeping one eye out for security guards or irate homeowners.

The only problem I encountered was when another car came down the narrow road and I had to move further into the ditch so they could pass. Another tricky part about photographing in Vermont - ditches on the road side known to swallow cars!



It wasn't until month later that I found out this place is called Sleepy Hollow Farm. (Hey give me a break I just moved to the area!) I was in a hotel lobby and saw on the post card rack a similar photo to the one I took. I'm probably the one millionth person to take a picture of this farm but so what.

It is currently for sale, owned by the drummer for Aerosmith (I didn't hear any drumming) and can be had for just under $4 million.
