Second Paycheck, Acceptance ratio: 50,2%

posted on 6th of september, 2011
When I started at DT last year ago my acceptance ratio was below ... any discussion. The number was so bad that I don't want to mention it here.

Now, after 223 photos online and my second paycheck I finally crossed the 50% acceptance rate.
Some of the last pics which took me over the 50%:

Yes, I know, the really good photographers have an acceptance rate of over 90%. So, still a long way to go for me.
Thanks to everybody who inspired me and helped me to improve!

Content Filter On/off - Sensitive Photos

posted on 18th of september, 2011
In the "Management Area" below the search field there is a check box
with two little buttons called "Content Filter On/Off".

When you search for photos with "Content Filter" switched to "On" all
photos which are considered by DT as "sensitive" are not shown.

Per default for each account the content filter is switched to "On".

Of course, what an individual considers as "sensitive" might heavily differ
by factors like age, background, culture, belief, gender etc.

Nevertheless DT seems to be quite strict with the definition of "sensitive"
and I suppose that also reviewers have different opinions about it.

For example:

is "Content filtered: YES",

but nearly the same photo with ladies instead of men

I suspect that the trigger for something being considered sensitive is in the keywords

The lucky strike

posted on 30th of september, 2011
You want to make a photo of something - an event of whatever and suddenly a totally
different subject lets your photographic bell rings...

Probably many of us know this phenomenon.

It happened to me during a traditional bicycle competition in the center of Nuremberg, Germany.

Of course, since "action" photos are of major interest I made photos of these
well trained athletes riding their bikes with full speed.

But suddenly it hits me - this medieval fountain at the market place in Nuremberg.
It was originally designed as the peak of a church but the ancient structural designers
realized that this peak was too heavy for the church so they made a fountain...

That's a great story! The biking images are great and so is the fountain. Thanks for sharing this with us. Sometimes, in the race to get good images, we don't consider our surroundings fully. I'm glad that you did. :)
