No rejections, what's wrong with my photos?

posted on 10th of january, 2012

Last Sunday I downloaded 11 editorial photos and the next day all were accepted!
NO REJECTIONS! AND: Nothing to learn!!!! It's the first time I made this experience!

No
- bad light
- that's not what we are looking for
- not stock relevant
- out of focus
- to many photos of the same or similar subject
- photo was erroneously accepted
etc.

Since nearly two years I tried to improve but this time I'm out of luck.

Yes, I know, I should be more humble, be more patient, visit photo courses, learn photoshop instead of gimp, become a member of a photo club, shoot some more tomato photos and don't dring two glasses of wine before writing blogs ...

Here is the list of my 11 downloaded and accepted editorial photos. Please give me frank feedback which I normally get from rejections:

To be honest, today (Tuesday) I got one rejection, but this photo was accepted, too:

and here is my only tomato photo, shot by my son with my camera under my supervision but with my fingers in danger:

The most positive attitude blog! LOL Wish everyone the same experience, especially when they know there must have been no rejection... if you think there must have been some rejections and there was none, then something went really wrong and it is something to bother about ;-)

Reasons for acceptance of your photos might include good composition and uniqueness of subject matter not usually considered by most photographers. With 782 photos online, I've noticed that "pretty" often isn't a good enough reason for acceptance by DT, but "unique" or "out of the ordinary" are sought by subscribers looking for something different from the norm. For example, you can have a thousand pictures of Crater Lake's Wizard Island, (Dreamstime only has 186,) but only one or two might stand out for presenting unique lighting, perspective or detail.

Sounds great... Congratulations. I guess you are thinking like a DT photo reviewer ehwn you upload and take your images.

It sounds like you learned from previous mistakes and these were approved because you didn't repeat those same previous mistakes! ;))))))

good editorial work, some are bit tilted for example [imgl]http://www.dreamstime.com/luebeck-town-hall-conference-room-image22735210[/imgl]
few have issue with barrel distortion like [imgl]http://www.dreamstime.com/luebeck-holstentor-gate-image22733369[/imgl]
These are things I would correct, but it's not a standard, just my subjective opinion

Looking good to me ! Have you tried letting the tortoise bite your "shutter finger" ? This may lead to a bit of camera shake and blurred images helping with your rejection rate ? ;o)
Dave.

I am unclear whether the images were or were not accepted and what you are saying about them. Please clarify. David
