You don't know what you have!     posted on 21st of january, 2012

Sometimes you take a shot, you kind of like the image and then it starts to get a few accolades. This image was one of 10 I entered last year in the World Photographed of the year competition. It was entered into the urban wildlife section and went on to make it to the 3rd round of judging. It was really astonishing to me as I thought the other 9 images were better. This image has also now won me a competition in a South African travel and outdoor magazine to be published in February. Maybe its the start of new beginnings :-)

Nicely done!! Congratulations!! I am really happy for you--you work very hard at getting the bird shots. - posted by Adeliepenguin on January 22, 2012
It's an excellent image. Really impressive. I think it's funny sometimes in a way that our own eyes see something so different that what other peoples' eyes do. In one way, perhaps we are too judgemental of our own work, and in another way, we have an idea of what we had a concept of in our heads. Sometimes there is an image that fits OUR idea but the rest of the world doesn't see it. It's both interesting and frustrating to me when that happens. In your case, wonderful! You should be extremely proud of your accomplishment. Well done and best wishes to you. - posted by Calyx22 on January 22, 2012
Congratulations. It s real, sometimes we like others more, but other people like the one that didn't capture our atention that much. But it is true, this one is really beatifull, how the bird was in the middle of the squares. - posted by Celiaak on January 22, 2012
