2 Years Later...

Exactly two years from the day I joined here I've hit a milestone... my 5th time cashing out!

When I joined, I was nervous. I took it slow and tried to pick the best of my images only to submit. I was nervous, but it did lead to a high acceptance ratio! It's a good idea for photographers/artists new to DreamsTime to upload a few images at a time to begin with until you learn the basics... such as checking for noise and double checking for logos.

The last sell was as exciting as my first! While so far this has been more of a hobby (note, only 81 images uploaded!), I find myself shooting more and more for stock photography.

I learned not to be shy asking friends or family if I could use them (or their kids) as models! A lot of the images in my portfolio are ones I was taking anyways, of family and for my portfolio. I love doing portrait photography, and I have found that relationships and emotion are great sellers, especially when they tell a story!

I've had a great start on Dreamstime, and look forward to many more years of uploads and sells!

Peppenero - thank you for your kind words. Right now stock photography is a hobby, but I am a professional portrait photographer and have been for 5 years. I am obsessed with photography so I'm always trying to learn more. I just haven't had a lot of time to devote to stock photography... In fact, I have some images taken that I still need to scan releases and upload, and more still to edit... But family and paying clients come first.
