Encounters of amazing diversity and great experiences featured in a recent couple of trips to Hyderabad in India. I traveled there on both occasions for work and stayed at an amazing hotel in the IT zone called Mindspace. The office was a short walk from the hotel and eating places were close.
During my first trip I was fortunate to have a colleague show me an amazing site called Charminar at sunrise in the downtown area. Charminar was build in 1591 and means 4 towers when translated, it was built to commemorate the end of a period of plague. I later visited during the hustle and bustle of the day and was able to climb to the viewing level. It is well worth a visit if you get an opportunity.
I also visited a place called the Grand Chowmahalla Palace. It also had an interesting history, however was at this point in a rush so didn't get to do the place justice.
The third place I visited was the Falaknuma Palace which has been renovated by the Taj hotel chain and is simply amazing. As a casual visitor you aren't allowed to shoot inside however those fortunate to stay can - but it is not cheap.
The final destination on my quick city tour was the Golconda or Golkonda Fort. Again it has a rich history and is well worth a trip.
I only had a few hours to spare so had to make do with harsh light, etc and most places do not allow tripods so high ISO was the only option in low light situations however such an amazing part of the world to visit.
I would highly recommend the destination and look forward to future trips there!
