SDD............. Sales Dropped in Dreamstime

posted on 7th of june, 2012

Hi.... Since I joined DT few years back, I never had this low phase in sales............ for past one month sales have dropped to lowest, is it just me or overall sales in DT dropped. Your comments will be appreciated....

I have tried everything to promote my portfolio, and i'm sure even DT is doing the best, since I see DT banners in most of the sites I visit.....

Really Surprised to see my sales going a downward trend, How to improve sales???? Is being the exclusive only way? :-)

Please share if sales have dipped for others, and way to improve sales collectively for everyone..... Any ideas, please post here.......

Well here are some of my recent images.....

I think you folio is very narrow in the subjects that you cover. That might make it fluctuate in sales.

BCritchley, my hope is just the same as you express: I am confident that DT will react as they see that the situation has worsened and that they will do the necessary changes, let's hope all this blogs and comments are being read by DT?

It's just a thought, there are thousands of images a day flooding on to DT, even makes me wonder if it will be possible to keep making money in the future? Last months revenue was a BME for me hitting a fraction under $500.00. It's getting to a level were the money is almost useful and worthwhile but before we know there will be say 30 million images on here, tech will always get better, peoples editing skills and software packages will continue to improve. Guess none of us can ever get to a stage where we are happy then expect things to just stay the same. It's a tough one but I guess it's that thought that drives us on to keep putting in the effort. I'm sure DT will not do anything to severe and if the new price structure really did mean there sales/revenue went down then i'm pretty sure it will be addressed in time. Maybe we lost some buyers, buyers who see an increase and just bail, they will bail from the next site to, but new buyers everyday find DT where the new prices are...(More)

Sometime sales drops, you will see in next months if it is a trend. For me, last month was very good.

@BCritchley: Yeah i agree I have a small portfolio, but I used to earn good revenue, until last month, good means really good, my sales have dropped a whopping 89 percent, which is what I'm worried.

BME's for me month after month both at DT and other sites.

Happy me.

DT is even doing great after the recent reschedule of levels

You have a very small portfolio for a 5 year account whereas the database in that time has increased exponentially. Maybe newer, larger better quality files are taking your sales? Just a thought :-)

Even with my small portfolio (145 images) my sales have remained surprisingly consistent over the past 2 years, with a slight increase quarter to quarter. I think the reason for that is I try to upload images that are "stocky" and current and that seems to work fine for me.

Did other stock companies increase prices by 30-50%?
I am sure buyers are not happy about this.

this issue has been going on in different blogs for the last month and a half, there are many contributors who are experiencing the same problem. As I had already commented in other blogs, I am now for 2 years in DT and sales and revenue had always been growing (quarterly, of course), this quarter which will finish end of june will be the first heavy drop in sales and revenue. Nobody seems to know really why this is happening and DT has not made any statement so far as I know. Changes in pricing? World crisis now affecting european buyers? Hard times, actually. But let's hope for DT.

Hard to tell. I don't have enough sales volume to differentiate a real trend.
