Traditional Christmas illustrations

posted on 17th of november, 2012
Well, Christmas is coming and for an illustrator this is a very busy period. Christmas is at the same time inspiring and tiring, the reign of magical images and the pile of things already seen.
Time to find something different.
This time I've decided to take a step back to go forward. So I have taken watercolors out from the drawer. Yes, REAL brushes and TRADITIONAL watercolors. Not digital but old, retro, vintage paintings.
Let's see how it goes and... M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S !

thank you. I'm doing a research on Christmas symbols to do my new illustrations, and it's very interesting. For example, the traditional color of Christmas is green, the color of new life and rebirthing, NOT red (the color of Coke santa claus!). I will do new illustrations based on old ancient symbols. I like them very much.

Oh great-a very talented artist, I hope they sell well, I am sure they will. So good to see traditional images. :)
