Slowly walking and watching

posted on 13th of july, 2012

Hi all, first blog post for me here.

As an architect, I tend to walk slow in new places I visit, trying to capture how life flows in that place and looking at all those small details that a nice genuine environment has to offer. My wife is an architect, too, so I'm lucky to share this kind of peaceful observation of things with the woman I love.
More, if you are so relaxed to get out of your bed very early in the morning, there is plenty of occasions to take good shots of the world around you. The light is so good at that time, and the silence gives the whole scene a particular mood.
I always have my camera with me, ready to shoot.
I hope all of you will take your deserved holiday and enjoy it, slowly walking and watching. And shooting, of course! :-)

Ciao!

Walking is the best. Riding the bike slowly is good, too. But looking around when you drive the car can be dangerous.

I agree - walking is the best. If I'm in the car I tend to find some excuse for not pulling over - story on the radio is too interesting, no place to park, passengers might get annoyed etc. The worse is being trapped in someone else's car and seeing great shots go by. On your feet you have more time to see and don't have any excuses not to take the shots.

Thank you, for your blog. We tend to walk without seeing very much but think photography "opens your eyes" also and makes you see the world that perhaps has gone unnoticed. Lovely photos. To walk slowly though here this summer would require a very large umbrella, but as soon as the sun eventually appears in our Summer then I will take your advice and enjoy walking slowly with my camera.
