After a long cold Winter choose a holiday destination.

Thinking about a holiday make sure your passports are up to date and you've got enough cash in this era of ' bad banks'.

Venice was our choice last May and you will find it hard to beat it for photographic opportunities.
The water front in Venice Lagoon is where public transport lands and departs, You've guessed it by boat.
We stayed at Lido de Jesolo which is 20 Km from Venice but probably much cheaper. Here you see people going green in Italy with an entire family on one bike !
It was wonderful to see artists working outside by the canals not smelly in May as some report.
Public transport on the Lagoon is full of opportunity for great pictures with cruise ships passing through the Lagoon ............ it's a puzzle how they don't hit the bottom.
One of the best treats is Burano, accessed by public transport. Its colors are the most intense I have seen anywhere.
Always go for a trip on a gondola.......... it's magical

You see Venice masks on stalls on the water front and colorful entertainers !
Venice lagoon has great photo opportunities from every viewpoint.
A trip to Venice with a Tour Operator has advantages like arranging trips to the mountains. Here is a picture of a wood carver in Cortina.

and here a tourist with a carving of Pinnochio.
A cruise liner in the Lagoon is best viewed from public transport and here is the Riveria

You will find it hard to beat a holiday in Venice. I hope I don't persaude too many folk to go or there won't be room for me to go again.

I love Venice, I have been there many times (for me perhaps it’s easier, just less than 3 h by train). I went there last February, just after carnival and it was a great choice. Low season not only means low prices (we rent an apartment in the center with a superb view spending as for a hostel), but especially the possibility to stay there in a very relaxing atmosphere. In the evening most of people go away and you just have to sit down and drink a glass of wine talking with the very nice and friendly Venetians. Some shots in My Italy
