I just came back from one of my favorite shooting spots for flowers and critters, Flamingo Gardens
I went to shoot some video of two of the waterfalls on the property and get some more shots of the various critters that roam the gardens. I hadn't been there in 4 months or so.
Imagine my disappointment when I went inside only to find that the lush vegetation had completely overgrown the falls. You could hear them, but you couldn't see them, so, no video.
I did the same thing to myself on a recent trip to St. Augustine. A shrimp boat was tied to a dock out in a salt marsh. Nice shot, but I was driving and thought I'd come back the next day to shoot it instead of stopping right then. Sure enough, when I went back, the boat was gone and so was my shot.
I think I have finally learned that when a shot presents itself, take it or you may not get another chance to shoot it again.
